BRONX, NY – In a significant development, John Gonzalez, a 25-year-old resident of 1111 Beach Avenue, Bronx, was arrested on Saturday, December 9, at 3:00 AM by officers from the 52nd Precinct. Gonzalez faces charges of murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
This arrest stems from an incident on Tuesday, July 11, when police responded to a 911 call at 1791 Gleason Avenue, in the 43rd Precinct area, at around 10:25 PM. They found Anthony Gonzalez, 35, with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim, residing at 1214 Saint Lawrence Avenue, Bronx, was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi in critical condition and later died on July 13.
No arrests were made initially, and the investigation continued until John Gonzalez’s recent apprehension. The NYPD continues to investigate and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
