NEW YORK, NY – Their plan crashed and burned, literally, but New York City Police Department detectives are continuing their search for a band of failed carjackers from an incident that occurred last week.
The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in an attempted robbery and carjacking that took place in Brooklyn.
According to police, on April 13, at approximately 2:20 PM, a 65-year-old male was sitting in his vehicle in front of 1370 Ralph Avenue when two male suspects approached his driver’s side window and assaulted him.
“One of the suspects brandished a firearm while the other attempted to steal the victim’s chain. The suspects then demanded the victim exit his vehicle and hand over his car keys,” the NYPD said in a statement. ‘The victim was able to disarm one of the suspects, causing them to flee into a nearby Jeep Cherokee, driven by a third unknown male.”
The vehicle crashed shortly after the incident, and the suspects fled the scene on foot.
The victim suffered pain and swelling to his face due to the attack. Photos of the suspects were released today by the NYPD.
