NYPD Seeking Suspect Central Park Involving Assault and Hate Speech Incident

NEW YORK, NY—A 70-year-old man was assaulted on Saturday in front of 85 West Drive.

At around 6:08 PM, the victim was approached from behind by an unidentified assailant on a bicycle. Following a brief dispute, the attacker punched the man in the upper body and uttered an anti-Semitic remark before fleeing southbound in Central Park.

The New York Police Department’s Hate Crimes Task Force has taken up the investigation.

The suspect is described as a male with a slim build and medium complexion. He was last observed wearing an orange baseball hat, white t-shirt, black pants, and sneakers, and was carrying a cross-body black bag. Although the victim suffered minor injuries, he did not require hospitalization.
