NYPD Seeks Assistance to Identify Suspect in Violent Robbery

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery and stabbing incident that occurred within the 44 Precinct. The incident took place on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at around 4:40 AM, near the intersection of Morris Avenue and East 169 Street.

An unidentified male approached a 43-year-old victim and demanded his book bag. When a physical altercation ensued, the assailant stabbed the victim multiple times in the torso and hand, then forcibly took the book bag and fled westbound on 169 Street. The victim was left with severe lacerations and was subsequently transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he is currently in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a waist-length jacket, tan shorts, blue sneakers, a white t-shirt, and carrying a black book bag. The NYPD has released images of the suspect and urges anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
