NYPD Seeks Help Identifying Suspect in Armed Robbery at Brooklyn Grocery Store

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery that took place early Monday morning in Brooklyn. The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on August 19 at a grocery store located at 514 4th Avenue within the 78th Precinct.

According to police reports, an unidentified male entered the store and inquired about merchandise from a 67-year-old male employee. The suspect then proceeded to walk behind the counter, where he displayed a knife and threatened the employee. The suspect forcibly took the employee’s phone and approximately $500 from the cash register before fleeing the scene on foot.

There were no injuries reported in connection with the incident. The NYPD has released surveillance footage of the individual and is urging anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
