NYPD Seeks Information on Suspect in Queens Bus Assault

NEW YORK CITY – The New York City Police Department is reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in an assault that took place within the 105th Precinct. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 3, 2024, around 7:35 PM.

The assault followed a verbal altercation on an MTA Q5 bus traveling westbound on Merrick Boulevard near 232nd Street in Queens. After both the victim, a 52-year-old male, and the assailant exited the bus at 231st Street, the dispute escalated into a physical confrontation. The suspect reportedly slashed the victim’s head with an unknown object during the altercation. Following the attack, the assailant fled southbound on 231st Street.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Jamaica Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion. Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident or the suspect’s identity to come forward to help with the investigation.
