NYPD seeks public help in search for missing 81-year-old Bronx woman

BRONX, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating an 81-year-old woman who went missing in the Bronx earlier this week.

Lavina Jones was last seen on Wednesday, October 30, at approximately 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Sheridan Avenue and East 161st Street, according to police. Jones, who lives in the 44th Precinct area, resides at 1006 Grant Avenue.

Jones is described as a Black female, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds. She has black hair and black eyes, authorities said.

When she was last seen, Jones was wearing a grey fedora, a green turtleneck shirt, black jogging pants, and black shoes.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information on Jones’s whereabouts to come forward as officers continue efforts to locate her.
