NYPD Seeks Suspect in Attempted Assault of Woman in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is searching for a man involved in the attempted assault of a 25-year-old woman in Brooklyn late Thursday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. on August 22, 2024, in the vicinity of Ocean Avenue and Parkside Avenue. The woman was walking inside a building when an unidentified individual approached her from behind and wrapped his arm around her neck, according to police reports.

The victim began to scream “stop” and “help,” prompting the assailant to tell her to “shut up” before ultimately letting her go. The suspect then fled the scene on foot to an unknown location. The victim declined medical attention following the encounter.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the NYPD.
