NEW YORK, NY – The NYPD has arrested one of their own. A cop who was drinking and driving off-duty last night.
On the evening of Wednesday, October 18, 2023, a New York City Police Department sergeant was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) – marking his first such offense. The arrest occurred at 5:18 PM.
Sergeant Braulio Aponte, a 40-year-old male, now faces charges of DWI-1st Offense as a result of the incident.
