LAKEWOOD, NJ – A Lakewood man has pleaded guilty to attempting to coerce a young juvenile girl online.
United States Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said Samuel Schwinger, 37, of Lakewood, New Jersey, pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor before U.S. District Court Judge Georgette Castner.
According to the Department of Justice, Schwinger used an internet-based application to communicate with the victim in March 2019, who was under the age of 12.
“He requested that the victim make sexually explicit videos and send them to him. It was Schwinger’s admission that between October 2018 and April 5, 2019, he communicated with over 25 minor victims for the purpose of producing and distributing sexually explicit material,” court records revealed.
He is facing a mandatory 15 year prison sentence for his conviction.
Sellinger said the charge of sexual exploitation of a minor carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison, a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison, and a fine of $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for June 27, 2023.
