Ocean County man held without bail on assault charge, immigration detainer filed

Toms River, NJ – A 36-year-old Ocean County man is in custody without bail after being charged with attempted assault and flagged with an immigration detainer, jail records show.

Jorge Alejandro Mendieta-Isidro was booked into the Ocean County Jail on Sept. 17 on one count of attempted assault — specifically, attempting to cause or knowingly causing bodily injury to another, according to court documents.

Records also show that U.S. Immigration authorities issued a detainer.

Mendieta-Isidro is described as 5’5” tall, 165 pounds, with brown eyes, short brown hair, and an olive complexion. Jail records list him as separated and a high school graduate.
