TRENTON, N.J. — An Ocean County player struck gold on Dec. 6, matching all five numbers in the New Jersey Lottery’s Cash 5 game to win a $1,883,824 jackpot.

The winning ticket was sold at Silverton Buyrite on Hooper Avenue in Toms River. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the life-changing ticket. The winning numbers were 07, 21, 28, 31, and 38, with an XTRA number of 02.

The winner discovered the news days later while working and checking emails. After retrieving the ticket and confirming the numbers, they realized they had won, describing the experience as emotional and overwhelming.

The winner plans to use the money to buy a house and invest in retirement, marking a dramatic turn in what had been a difficult year.
