Ocean County Woman Faces Charges for Embezzling $95,000 From Business

FREEHOLD, NJ — Dina M. Mulleano, 49, of Brick Township, has been charged with second-degree theft by deception, as announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago. The charge follows an investigation into nearly $100,000 embezzled from her employer, a local entertainment company.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) Financial Crimes and Public Corruption Bureau initiated the investigation after receiving reports of Mulleano’s misconduct. While serving as the human resources manager, Mulleano allegedly executed about 70 fraudulent payroll direct deposits to her bank account between June 2021 and October 2022. She is accused of crediting these payments to over two dozen employees, culminating in a total theft of over $95,000.

Mulleano received a summons earlier this week, with a preliminary court appearance scheduled for January 23, 2024, at the Monmouth County Superior Court.
