Off-duty FDNY firefighter busted for DWI in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY – An FDNY firefighter was arrested early Sunday after police say he was driving drunk in Crown Heights.

Around 1:12 a.m., officers took 34-year-old firefighter Edward Jean-Jacques into custody in the 77th Precinct. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired, and refusing to take a breath test.

Jean-Jacques, who was off duty at the time, was processed on the spot. Details about the circumstances leading to the stop were not immediately released.

The FDNY has not yet commented on the arrest.
