BRONX, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City corrections officer was arrested late Friday night and charged with robbery and assault, police said. Jessica Bella-Flores, 40, was taken into custody at approximately 11:19 p.m. within the confines of the NYPD’s 43rd Precinct in the Bronx.
Bella-Flores, who has worked as a corrections officer for the city, faces charges of second-degree robbery and second-degree assault. Details regarding the circumstances of the alleged offenses were not immediately available, and officials have not disclosed whether the incident involved her professional duties.
This arrest adds to a series of recent incidents involving off-duty city employees, raising questions about the behavior of personnel outside of work.
