Off-duty NYPD analyst leads police on wild chase in Manhattan

NEW YORK — An off-duty NYPD crime analyst was arrested early Friday morning in Upper Manhattan on charges of reckless endangerment and fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, authorities said.

Samy Farawlo, 26, was taken into custody at 2:02 a.m. within the 34th Precinct, which covers Washington Heights and Inwood. Details of the incident leading to his arrest have not been released.

Farawlo faces charges of first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle. The NYPD has not commented on his current employment status.
