Off-duty NYPD communications worker busted in Bronx on contempt and harassment charges

Bronx, NY – An off-duty NYPD police communications technician was arrested Friday night in the Bronx on multiple charges, officials said.

Amber Cruz, 25, was taken into custody around 8:26 p.m. within the 49th Precinct after an incident that led to her being charged with criminal contempt, aggravated harassment and harassment in the second degree, according to police.

Cruz, who works as a communications technician for the department, was not on duty at the time of her arrest. No additional details on the circumstances of the charges were immediately available.

The NYPD confirmed the arrest and said the case is under review.
