Off-duty NYPD crossing guard arrested for assault in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN — An off-duty NYPD school crossing guard was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with assault, police confirmed.

Malasia Frazier, 49, was taken into custody at approximately 2:22 p.m. within the confines of the 81st Precinct, which covers parts of Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn.

Frazier, an NYPD employee assigned as a school crossing guard, was off duty at the time of the incident. Specific details surrounding the assault charge have not been released.
