Off-duty NYPD lieutenant arrested on assault charge in Queens

Queens, NY – An off-duty New York City police lieutenant was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after being accused of assault, officials said.

The NYPD confirmed that Jonathan Hom, 44, was arrested at approximately 12:03 p.m. within the confines of the 111th Precinct. Hom, who holds the rank of lieutenant, faces a charge of assault.

The department has not released further details about the alleged incident that led to the arrest. It remains unclear whether the case involved injuries or if the altercation took place on or off duty.
