Off-duty NYPD officer arrested for DWI in the Bronx

An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested in the Bronx for allegedly driving while intoxicated and refusing a breathalyzer test.

NEW YORK — An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in the Bronx, police said.

John Magee, 31, was taken into custody within the confines of the 45th Precinct. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired, and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the arrest. The case remains under investigation.
