Off-duty NYPD school safety agent arrested for DWI in the Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. — An off-duty NYPD school safety agent was arrested early Sunday morning in the 40th Precinct on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to police officials.

Paula Finn, 54, was taken into custody at approximately 2:44 a.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired, and refusal to take a breath test.

Finn is currently employed as a school safety agent with the New York City Police Department. Officials did not disclose the circumstances leading to the arrest or whether any property damage or injuries were involved.

The incident remains under internal review by the NYPD, which routinely investigates off-duty conduct involving department personnel.

No additional details have been released regarding Finn’s current duty status following the arrest.
