Officer-Involved Shooting Results in Death of Dog

LINDEN, NJ – Police officers in Linden shot and killed a dog while responding to a welfare check after being attacked.

Officers responding to a welfare check for multiple dogs were reportedly attacked by one of the animals. In response, an officer discharged their weapon, resulting in the death of the dog.

The incident remains under investigation, with further information withheld at this time. The public is asked to avoid the vicinity of the 600 block of Dewitt St.
