Officers Commended for Swift Action in Preventing Parking Garage Suicide

COLUMBIA, MD – Police officers are being recognized for their quick response in preventing a man from jumping off a nine-story parking garage.

The timely intervention effectively saved the man’s life.

Upon receiving a report of a man on the ledge of the top floor of a Columbia parking garage, officers immediately rushed to the scene.

They found the individual hanging off the edge and acted without hesitation to pull him back to safety. He was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical attention.

The officers involved—PFC England, and POs Omesh, Amaya, and Ely—have been commended for their rapid and decisive actions in the life-saving event.
