Akron player hits $2M Powerball win with lucky ticket at Circle K

AKRON, OH – A stop at a local Circle K turned into a multimillion-dollar payday for one lucky Powerball player, who matched five numbers and used the Powerplay option to double their prize in Wednesday night’s drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Circle K #5702, located at 3520 South Arlington Road in Akron. Lottery officials said the auto-pick ticket matched all five white balls, securing a $1 million win that was boosted to $2 million thanks to the Powerplay multiplier of 4.

The winning numbers from the August 27 drawing were 9, 12, 22, 41, 61, with the Powerball 25.

The winner has 180 days to come forward and claim the prize.

Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot continues to grow, climbing to an estimated $950 million for Saturday’s drawing — the sixth-largest jackpot in the game’s history.
