Ohio Man Wins $150K Lottery Prize, Forgets Glasses, Hearing Aids in Excitement

Middleburg Heights Man Wins $150K, Walks Off Without Glasse

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio — A Middleburg Heights man struck it big with a $150,000 lottery win — and was so overwhelmed he left behind both his glasses and hearing aids when claiming the prize.

The winner hit the top prize playing the Cash Explosion 25X scratch-off game, according to the Ohio Lottery. Despite the chaotic celebration moment, he already has plans for the money, saying he intends to buy a new car.

After required state and federal tax withholdings totaling 26.75%, the winner will take home $109,875.

The winning ticket was purchased at Dairy Deli on Sheldon Road in Middleburg Heights, which now joins the list of retailers selling top-prize tickets in the state.

Cash Explosion 25X is a $5 scratch-off game, and as of April 3, two top prizes remain unclaimed. The game carries overall odds of 1 in 3.77.

The Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to education since 1974.
