FELTON, DE – Early this morning, Delaware State Police responded to a fatal single-vehicle accident involving a Chevrolet Silverado. The crash occurred on April 14, 2024, at around 3:10 AM on Paradise Alley Road near the intersection with South Dupont Highway.
The vehicle was traveling westbound when it failed to stop at the intersection, crossing both north and southbound lanes of South Dupont Highway. It then veered off the southwest edge of the road, struck a stop sign on the eastbound side of Paradise Road, and side-swiped a large tree in a grassy area.
The 20-year-old male driver from Clayton was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity will be released following notification of next of kin. The investigation led to a road closure for about three hours as authorities examined the scene and cleared the debris.
