One Dead in Hamilton Crash

Hamilton, NJ – A tragic motor vehicle crash on Route 50 resulted in one fatality and another person injured on the evening of February 17th. The Township of Hamilton Police Department reported to the scene just south of Old Egg Harbor Road at approximately 6:06 PM following the incident.

The collision involved a 2017 Dodge Ram driven by 29-year-old James Langlois of Richland, who was traveling southbound on Route 50. For reasons under investigation, Langlois’s vehicle veered into the opposing lane, colliding head-on with a 2007 Dodge Ram operated by 62-year-old Thomas Neyers of Galloway.

Neyers was pronounced dead at the scene, while Langlois sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for treatment. The accident caused significant traffic disruptions for several hours as emergency services worked on the scene.

The Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, Mays Landing and Laureldale Fire Departments, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the New Jersey Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is active, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Township of Hamilton Police Department to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
