One Dead in Randallstown Fire

One person died at an area hospital following an early morning house fire in Baltimore County on Sunday morning.

Randallstown resident Darris Chandis Lilly, 38, was rushed to the hospital after a two-alarm fire in the 4200 block of Wards Chapel Road. Fire crews, including those from the Baltimore County Fire Department and nearby agencies, were called to the scene around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday morning, where they encountered a heavy fire showing from the residence.

Firefighters initiated a rescue effort upon hearing that a man might be inside, leading to Lilly being found on the first floor in cardiac arrest. Lilly was treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital, where he later died. The fire was brought under control at approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday morning. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
