One Dead in Riverdale Park Crash

RIVERDALE PARK, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department has reported 43-year-old Checcia Durham of Washington, DC, a driver in a crash reported on Thursday died.

According to police, at approximately 2:40 pm on Thursday, officers responded to East-West Highway at 44th Place for a single-vehicle collision involving a garbage truck.

“The preliminary investigation revealed Durham was driving eastbound on East-West Highway approaching the intersection of 44th Place, when for reasons that are under investigation, she struck a curb causing the truck to overturn. Durham was pronounced deceased on the scene,” the PGPD said. “The two other occupants in the truck were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
