CHESAPEAKE, VA – At 9:00 a.m., Chesapeake Police were alerted to a collision at the S. Highway 17 and Business Rt. 17 intersection.
The incident involved an SUV and a tractor-trailer. Preliminary investigations suggest the SUV was merging onto Highway 17 from Business Rt. 17 when the southbound tractor-trailer struck it.
The female driver, and sole occupant, of the SUV was declared dead at the scene.
The crash site is temporarily closed as investigators assess the scene. The deceased SUV driver’s identity remains undisclosed, awaiting family notification.
