One Dead in Seat Pleasant Crash

SEAT PLEASANT, MD – A tragic motor vehicle accident claimed the life of a 69-year-old Bowie resident, Zachery Cummings, on Thursday. The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the incident.

The collision, which involved two vehicles, occurred at around 1:30 PM on July 18, in the vicinity of Central Avenue near Brightseat Road. Responding officers from the Seat Pleasant Police Department found Cummings in his vehicle with severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was later pronounced deceased.

Authorities noted that the other driver involved in the crash did not sustain injuries. The collision took place in the westbound lanes of Central Avenue, and the exact cause is still being determined by investigators. Further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
