Two shot, one dead in late-night Baltimore shooting as homicide detectives investigate
BALTIMORE, MD — A man was killed and another left fighting for his life following a late-night shooting in Baltimore’s Southwest District, police said.
Officers responded around 11:48 p.m. on March 17 to the 300 block of North Gilmore Street after a ShotSpotter alert detected gunfire.
When police arrived, they found a 40-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the University of Maryland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
While officers were still on the scene, a second victim — a 44-year-old man — walked into a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. He remains in critical condition, authorities said.
Homicide detectives are actively investigating the shooting and have not released additional details about suspects or a possible motive.
