One Dead, One Injured in Bronx Shootings

BRONX, NY – Two shootings in the Bronx on Sunday resulted in one fatality and another person wounded.

The New York City Police Department reported the first incident at the intersection of E. 174th St. and Morris Ave. in Claremont at approximately 7:05 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim on the pavement with gunshot wounds to his chest, face, and left hand. Despite being rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, he was pronounced dead. Identification of the victim was ongoing as of Sunday night.

Earlier that day, around 2 p.m., another shooting occurred inside the 161st Street–Yankee Stadium station.

A 34-year-old man was shot in the leg while on an escalator. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. As of the latest updates, no arrests have been made in either case.
