BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 39-year-old man is dead and another man is recovering after a double shooting Monday night in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police said.

Officers responded at approximately 10:01 p.m. to reports of gunfire outside 1233 Putnam Avenue, within the NYPD’s 83rd Precinct. At the scene, they found two men with gunshot wounds.

Ramel Fisher, 39, of East 45th Street in Brooklyn, was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported by EMS to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A second victim, a 63-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to the right eye and was also taken to Brookdale. He remains in stable condition, according to police.

No arrests have been made. Authorities have not released information on a potential suspect or motive in the shooting.

Investigation ongoing in late-night gunfire incident

Detectives are working to determine what led to the shooting and whether the victims knew the assailant. The area around Putnam Avenue was cordoned off late Monday as investigators processed the scene.

The NYPD has asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. The case remains under active investigation.
