One killed in East Brunswick motorcycle crash

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. — A 22-year-old man from Spotswood was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday evening on Summerhill Road, according to East Brunswick Police.

Officers responded to the intersection of Summerhill Road and Racetrack Road at approximately 5:16 p.m. for a reported motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, identified as Robert J. Oross, was critically injured in the crash and later pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured and remained on site following the collision.

East Brunswick Police confirmed that Patrolmen Ryan Welch and Gabriel Gausachs from the department’s Traffic Safety Section are leading the investigation into the crash.

“The cause of the crash remains under investigation,” the department said in a statement. No further details have been released.

Authorities have not disclosed the make or model of the motorcycle or the other vehicle involved. It is also unclear whether weather, speed, or traffic signals played a role in the incident.

The intersection of Summerhill Road and Racetrack Road was temporarily closed while emergency personnel responded and investigators processed the scene.

The East Brunswick Police Department has asked anyone with information about the crash to contact their Traffic Safety Section.
