MACON COUNTY, N.C. – On Friday, the Macon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting in the Mashburn Branch area at approximately 10 a.m.
Officers found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim received medical assistance at the scene before being transported to a trauma center.
An unidentified suspect has been detained following the incident, and there is currently no known threat to the community.
The identities of the victim and the suspect are withheld pending further investigation.
