STAFFORD COUNTY, VA – In a recent outbreak of irresponsible behavior, three young residents of Stafford were charged after reportedly using Orbeez guns to settle disputes. The incidents, which involved shooting small, water-absorbent beads at individuals, occurred on May 25th, prompting a police response.
Deputy X.D. Bates of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office was called to Witch Hazel Lane around 6:28 p.m. following a report of an assault. The initial complaint described a female being attacked by three individuals who subsequently fled in a black Hyundai. Upon arrival, Deputy Bates noted the victim’s injuries, who recounted being shot at with Orbeez by a male and a female from a neighboring vehicle. When she attempted to address the assailants, all three physically assaulted her.
Further calls reported similar assaults involving a black sedan down the street, escalating the situation. The suspects, identified as an 18-year-old female and two 19-year-olds (one male and one female), allegedly targeted the victim’s residence and another location as part of an ongoing feud.
Despite being summoned back to the scene, only the two females complied. Investigations confirmed that the trio had been driving around both Fredericksburg and Stafford, engaging in these activities. As a result, they were charged with assault by mob, and the male suspect received additional charges of assault and battery for the drive-by shootings.
The two female suspects are currently held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond, while the male suspect remains at large, pending service of his warrant.
