TRENTON, NJ – Between Friday and Sunday, New Jersey reported over 100,000 new COVID-19 positive cases including testing data collected from PCR and antigen tests. That figure does not include the large number of people who used at-home test kits and did not report their results to health officials or those who did not test, but are COVID-19 positive.
Today, the New Jersey Senate is expected to vote on a bill that would allow the governor to extend his pandemic emergency powers another 45 days. The bill comes after state Democrats rejected Murphy’s request for a 90-day extension.
Governor Murphy’s existing pandemic emergency health declaration expires on Tuesday and with it, all of the governor’s emergency executive orders.
