Overnight shooting in Paterson under investigation

PATERSON, NJ – Paterson detectives are investigating a shooting that took place overnight in the area of Summer Street, between Pearl Street and 16th Avenue, where a male was struck by gunfire.

The shooting was reported at around 11 pm.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, a male, who had been shot and was lying on the ground. He was immediately provided first aid before being transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

The police have not released any information about the victim’s identity or the severity of their injuries. There is no word yet on the shooter or shooters involved.

No arrests have been made.

Police have cordoned off the area around the shooting during the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing, and officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information about it to come forward.
