Overnight shooting near Howard University leaves one injured

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was shot early Saturday morning just blocks from Howard University, prompting a police investigation in Northwest D.C.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 700 block of T Street NW around 1:34 a.m. and found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities said the victim was transported to a hospital conscious and breathing.

Police have not released any information on a suspect, and no arrests have been made. “MPD Units are investigating a shooting in the 700 block of T Street, NW. No lookout at this time,” the department stated on social media.

Officials have urged anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
