Owners of missing dog sought in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – Police in Newark are trying to find the owners of a dog found walking the streets alone on Friday night.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Frage said at around 5:30 p.m., a concerned citizen arrived at the 2nd Precinct, located at 1 Lincoln Avenue, with a dog found in the North Ward near Park Avenue.

“Members of the 2nd Precinct would be happy to reunite the dog with its owner, and request that he or she respond to 1 Lincoln Avenue,” Frage said.

The dog’s owner still has not been located.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about any criminal activity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
