OXON HILL, MD — A Prince George’s County resident, known by the nickname “Romeo,” has claimed a $50,000 top prize after purchasing a winning Bonus Match 5 ticket for the October 26 drawing.

A loyal Maryland Lottery player for more than 30 years, “Romeo” purchased the quick-pick ticket at Al’s Beer & Wine, located at 6224 Oxon Hill Road in Oxon Hill. In addition to the Bonus Match 5 ticket, he also tried his luck with Pick 3 and Pick 5 tickets, though only the Bonus Match 5 ticket delivered a major prize.

The $50,000 win came after “Romeo” matched all five numbers in the drawing. The longtime player plans to use his windfall to invest, purchase a new car, and shop for holiday gifts for his children.

Al’s Beer & Wine, the retailer that sold the winning ticket, will receive a $500 Lottery bonus for its role in the big win.
