Party at Airbnb erupts in gunfire, 16-year-old suspect detained

TULSA, OK – A party at an Airbnb rental turned violent after a teenager pulled a gun and shot one person.

On 1/23/2022 around 3:45 a.m., dispatch received multiple calls about shots heard at a home near Easton St. and Xenophon Ave in west Tulsa. Around the same time, officers responded to a shooting victim at a gas station at 220 N. Gilcrease Museum Road.

After investigating, officers determined the home where the shooting occurred was rented as an Airbnb. Several people were inside the house when officers arrived, and they were detained for questioning.

Officers determined a party had been going on earlier at the house, but we’re still investigating to find out what led up to the shooting.

Several dozen shots were fired. Officers recovered four firearms from the scene. A 16-year-old male was arrested for Shooting With Intent to Kill. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests could be made.

The shooting victim suffered a grazing wound to his head and was taken to the hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Tulsa Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS. You can remain anonymous when calling.
