Paterson Shooting Leaves Juvenile Injured, Investigation Underway

PATERSON, NJ – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced that a juvenile was injured in a shooting that occurred yesterday, near Hamilton Avenue and Carroll Street in Paterson. At approximately 5:26 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a potential crime scene but were unable to find any victims.

Shortly after, a juvenile arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, seeking treatment for a nonfatal gunshot wound. The investigation remains active and ongoing, with more information to be released once it becomes available. The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is asking anyone with additional information about the incident to contact their tips line or the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit.
