Pedestrian Struck and Killed Overnight on Route 9 in Howell Township

HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Honda Civic while crossing Route 9 South near Strickland Road on September 10 at 7:51 PM.

Following the collision, the pedestrian was transported to Centra State Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Honda Civic, also a Howell Township resident, was uninjured but was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Howell Township Police Department, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team.
