Pedestrian Struck in Lakewood Tuesday Evening

LAKEWOOD, NJ – One person was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a passing vehicle in Lakewood Township near the area of Route 9 and Central Avenue just outside of Downtown Lakewood. The incident happened at around 4 pm. The patient was transferred to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, formerly known as Kimball Medical Center, by Hatzolah.

The intersection of Route 9 and Central Avenue is heavily trafficked and often congested as it is the main thoroughfare into downtown Lakewood from County Highway 528 to the west from Jackson and Route 9 to the south from Toms River.

The patient’s condition is unknown at this time.
