Pedestrians Struck in Utica

UTICA, NY — A tragic car-pedestrian accident occurred around 6:30 PM tonight, December 8, at the intersection of Hopper Street and Genesee Street. Utica Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene where two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle crossing from Court Street to Hopper Street.

The pedestrians were walking southbound on Genesee Street. One pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to Wynn Hospital for treatment. The Utica Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident. The department extends its condolences to the family of the deceased.
