Pelosi says immigrants needed to pick crops in Florida, stop sending them north

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi this week said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should stop sending illegal immigrants north on buses to sanctuary states because Florida needs them to pick their crops.

Pelosi visibly stumbled when trying to identify the illegal immigrants.

“Right now, the best thing we can do for our economy is to have comprehensive immigration reform,” Pelosi said. “We have a shortage of workers, and you see it in Florida…why are you shipping these…uh…immigrants up north. We need them to pick the crops down here.”

Pelosi has been sharply criticized by political opponents over her comment, calling her an elitist who thinks the immigrants coming to America are uneducated and can only work in the fields picking crops.
