Penguin Waddle brings family fun and fitness to Turtle Back Zoo

WEST ORANGE, N.J. – Runners, walkers, and animal lovers will take to the paths around Essex County Turtle Back Zoo on Saturday for the annual Penguin Waddle, a family-friendly race that ends inside the zoo’s gates with a wild celebration.

The event invites participants to complete either a 3-mile course or a shorter 1.3-mile “Safari Shortcut,” with proceeds supporting zoo programming and conservation efforts.

Runners of all ages are encouraged to dress in animal-themed costumes and enjoy the morning’s mix of fitness and fun.
