Pennsylvania Toddler Drowns After Wandering Into Neighbor’s Pool

EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A devastating incident occurred on Sunday around noon when a 3-year-old boy drowned after wandering into a neighbor’s pool on Wheatland Avenue. East Hempfield Township police reported that the young boy had left his home unnoticed and accessed a nearby residential property with a pool.

The child was discovered in the pool at 12:08 p.m. and had already been removed and was receiving life-saving attempts when emergency responders arrived in response to a cardiac arrest call involving the toddler.

Despite the efforts of EMS personnel, the boy was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
